There has been issue with the ir not powering back up after remote shut down.

This is a work around that our customer, Jamal has come up with, which works but only with the Zotac WMC remote and dongle.

It is confirmed to work with Kodi (formerly XBMC) Gotham build, via Openlec (3.2.4, what i haveon hand)

First you must diable CIR Controller in Bios and enable CIR Wakeup Support. Have your USB dongle for the WMC remote plugged in.

Let system boot and you should be able to shut off and turn on via remote control.

If end users are complaining about their USB devices becoming unresponsive while installing Windows 7, on Braswell (or newer) chipset based ZBOXs, they should be informed that they are required to use the Windows 7 Installation tool, which is available on the website. Additionally, they can be directed to the guide for using this, also on our website.

Please note, the images in the guide are out of date, and with the latest version, there is an option to re-create a "patched" ISO image to the Hard Disk. This can be used to burn the "patched" ISO image to a DVD-R Disk, and boot from the DVD-R Disk to install Windows on the ZBOX.

The tool can be used to install Windows 7 on most ZBOXs without issue, however it is not linked on many pages, therefore I will provide a direct link to the tool download. (http://www.zotac.com/download/mediadrivers/mb/download/Win7_Tool_V1.63.zip)

The C series of the Zbox is set up to be installed with an UEFI OS, so the bios needs to be changed.

If you have a -U model with no hard drive or RAM installed, please purchased one of each. There is an approved list online.

Once installed, boot into bios by striking the DEL key updon boot up.

Once is the bios go to the boot tab, under boot os selection change that from UEFI win8 to Legacy. Save and exit (F10)

Have your OS installation device, USB or DVD drive plugged in, power on the unit and the installation should start.

If it doesn't go directly upon boot reset the system and strike F8 to evoke the boot option. Then click your device and follow prompt.

Wake on features

ZBOXHD-ID11 supports Wake on LAN and Wake on USB. Wake on LAN can be enabled in the BIOS under Chipset -> South Bridge Configuration -> On board Gigabit LAN boot ROM

Network Boot (LAN/PXE Boot)

This is a must have feature on the mini PC series. The CMOS selection is usually known as "LAN Boot ROM / PXE LAN Boot" (or similar). Look for this item in the CMOS, set this to "Enable", then next time the system startup will try to search a "PXE" server.

Heat/Fan Fix

First update to the latest BIOS. From the BIOS, from Advanced > PC Health Monitor set the CPUFAN Mode Setting from

ZOTAC MAG

(ZOTAC MAGHD-ND01)

How to disable the ZOTAC Splash Screen:

1. Enter to BIOS.

2. Go to Boot Menu.

3. Go to Boot Settings Configuration.

4. Set Quiet Boot to Disabled.

Power Usage:

The MAGHD-ND01 does not support dynamic voltage scaling. Software cannot control or change voltages. The options are increasing voltages from:

The Chipset voltage (Default, 1.05V 1.10V).

The Memory voltage (1.8V, Auto, 2.00, 2.10V).

Lowering the voltages from default or underclocking is not supported.

The ZOTAC MAG unit is expecting a DC Input of: 19VDC (+ / - 5 %)
Input voltage outside this range will not function.

Wake on USB:

No CMOS setting is needed for this feature. This feature is activated by hardware.

Primary Display:

When multiple monitors are attached (eg. VGA + HDMI), some user wants to be able to select which one to be the primary output (and change in the CMOS).

This is not available in the existing product configuration.

Similar to Add-On Display Cards, when there is more than one type monitor attached, the display card has its own priority mechanism to detect them, and set which one as the primary output during power up. Eg. VGA first, then DVI (if VGA is not present) , then HDMI (if VGA and DVI are not present).

This priority is determined by the VGA BIOS, not by the motherboard system BIOS.

Fan Control:

No third-party software can successfully detect the Fan Speed for this product.
