Hello all,

I have a Zotac ID41

PN 250FA169102ZT bios is 8.00.16 3/21/11

I would like when power disappears (because of power outage) , that the mini PC reboots automatically , Currently I have a red button, and I need to be physically there to press this red button to allow the PC to restart.

When i'm not there, I would like the PC to restart alone when power is falling (i have twice a month short power shortage that shuts down the PC.

I have looked thru ACPI function (S1, S3 ... ) and tried, but none worked.

A friend of mine could achieve this, but it does not remember how he did , and told me that the option is very fuzzy and tell nothing about this...

What I'm looking for in this ID41 bios is something like ->

Restore from AC power loss [always off | always on | last state]

BIOS is visible here ->

Thanks a lot.

PS: I would dream that in 2012, BIOS stops to be like it used to be in the 60s', ie acronyms , letter mixed with figures.... something absolutely UN-user friendly ...

I missed to get crazy, but I found ....
It was buried into a menu where I did not expect to find ...
"South Bridge chipset configuration" ....

see here ->

I bless myself, but I really hate the guy who made the menu of this Bios ... why he didn't make a power menu ?

Hi Cca777, and welcome to the Z-Spot forums!

The restore on power loss must be a function handled by the south bridge chipset. At least now you know you can restore power upon AC loss! :)

Thanks,
But I think end user does not care where this is inside north or south bridge, he just need to get the functionality to be accessed in an easy way... and Bios looks so old fashion now ... knowing that megabytes of memory can handle something better nowadays. Indeed Bios looks the same when I started computer science in 1990, ie 22 years ago (may be more color now !)

Manufacturers are slowly transitioning to UEFI to replace BIOS. Unfortunately, I cannot say what ZOTAC's plans are regarding this.
