I just wondering if the ZOTAC will release new BIOS update for 3rd gen CPU ( Ivybridge) for motherboards with Z68 chipset.

I wouldnt see why not.

But why bother getting ivy bridge on z68? Ivy bridge Mobos are better then z68 youd honestly be better off just upgrading completely.
Your #1 Zotac fan.
Will help if I can to any user on forums
Rep Points appreciated =)

Thankyou for choosing Zotac as your computer hardware Manufacturer.

I have bougt recently 3 weeks ago new MB and was sure it will work with Ivybridge :( . Dont need high clock, just I would like use 4 core 8 thread and intel hd graphics 4000 and 40-60W from this CPU , like version : Intel Core i7-3770T 2.50GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Low Power Processor (45W).

I would be more then happy if ZOTAC would do an update for z68 mobo.

Can you please advise asap because Im wordering if I have to sell this mobo or wait for update . Thank you.

really?

That speaks for the support that zotac puts on their products. I have found a bios big that is very easly reproduced and it hasn't been fixed since I reported it a couple of months ago. I'm on the 8th RMA because of this. Every time I get a new board, I test it for the problem and then ship it back. I was planning to do this until a bios update comes out that fixes my problem, but now, realizing the commitment that zotac puts on their products, when every motherboard manufacturer in the world has already released or is in the process of releasing ivy bridge bios updates, and realizing that if they aren't even going to support the new cpu's that they should be supporting, like all others, I really should have followed what others say about zotac and look elsewhere. My next RMA will come with money back, and I will move to another brand.

Thanks for the information, you saved me some time!

Hi madfinas,

What is the bug on the Z68ITX-A-E? A BIOS update to fix bugs is still possible. I will ask about this. From what I know, there is a hardware limitation on the Z68ITX-A-E that prevents the BIOS update from supporting Ivy Bridge CPU's.

the bug is that basically, if you disable the sata ports on bios, the system hangs at post if you try to enter bios again. very easy to reproduce.
the only way to enter bios again is to reset cmos with the jumper, but then, the sata ports are enabled again.

I really don't need this fixed anymore. I've already shipped the board back ( again ), and will have a coupon to use on another brand.

Anyway, the bug report is still listed on the first page of this forum, and I sent quite a few emails to zotac support about this. ( pcpartner ). - no result -

Pretty disappointed to read this coming here looking for a BIOS update. The other main manufacturers have all released updates for their Z68 boards to be compatible with Ivy Bridge CPUs. I've currently got a Core i3 2100 and hoped to upgrade to a Core i5 3570K.

Here is the BIOS update for the Z68ITX-A, adding support for Intel Ivy-Bridge (22nm) CPUs and Xeon processors.

Hi guys,

The mSATA issue is still being worked on by our engineers. I'll update about the issue once I have more information.

mSATA issues?? Hmm.. do those issues affect the new Z77 board as well or is it just a Z68 chipset issue? I'm also a little confused by this thread.. First a very confident NO BIOS UPDATE from a board moderator.. then magically a new Bios appears?? Does ANYONE know what they are talking about at ZOTAC?

Hi All,

Any word on when the mSATA will be fixed? I just bought a mSATA not knowing there was a problem with it. There are expensive and non returnable.

Thanks,

Derrick
