New ZOTAC® GeForce® GTX 580 AMP²! Edition boosts performance with 3GB of video memory and custom cooler

ZOTAC® International, a leading innovator and the world's largest channel manufacturer, today introduces the ZOTAC® GeForce® GTX 580 AMP²!™ Edition – its fastest single-GPU graphics card. The ZOTAC® GeForce® GTX 580 AMP²!™ Edition is designed to amplify cooling performance and gaming at extreme high-definition resolutions.

A custom high-performance heat-pipe heatsink enables the ZOTAC® GeForce® GTX 580 AMP²!™ Edition to stay cool and whisper-quiet while dual orange 92mm fans add a stylish ZOTAC® touch to create an enthusiast-grade graphics card that combines performance and style in a single 2.5-slot graphics card.

The ZOTAC® GeForce® GTX 580 AMP2!™ Edition boosts gaming performance by doubling the video memory of standard ZOTAC® GeForce® GTX 580 graphics card for a total of 3GB of video memory. The 3GB of video memory ensures the ZOTAC® GeForce® GTX 580 AMP2!™ Edition is able to render the latest Microsoft® DirectX® 11-enabled games and applications with maximum details and performance at resolutions up to 2560x1600.

"Enthusiast gamers demand the absolute best performance available. With the ZOTAC® GeForce® GTX 580 AMP2!™ Edition, we are able to boost high-resolution gaming performance while reducing noise levels and temperatures," said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC® International.

To let users take advantage of the graphics processing power available from the ZOTAC® GeForce® GTX 580 AMP2!™ Edition, a copy of Assassin's Creed®: Brotherhood is bundled with the card. Brotherhood takes gamers on an epic action-packed journey through a beautifully rendered replication of ancient Rome, Italy as Ezio, the master assassin.

It's time to play with the ZOTAC® GeForce® GTX 580 AMP2!™ Edition!

Hello,
I just wanted to post something about these cards (ZOTAC AMP2 GTX 580 3GB Edition) as I bought two of them in mid april and am running them in SLI.

First,
They are really good. The cooling unit from Zalman is excellent, and the card(s) performs very well. I don't do a lot of benchmarking, but I did see a review of the card here, which is overall positive. I would have to say, maybe not positive enough!

I have to say, I find that my temps are even lower than the tester's already low examples, although this may be due to having good cooling in my case.

Also, in the little benchmarking I HAVE done, the cards are consistently the most powerful single GPU card on the market (GTX 590 and ATI 6990 being dual CPU) when compared with the stats I see on reviews of those other cards, the Zotac card wins, hands down.

I was originally going to watercool my machine straight away, thinking the SLI config would be hell for heat, yet that is not what I have found with the ZOTAC cards consistently run quite cool. Perhaps in a year or so, when I'm further along in my warranty, I'll look at it again!

Anyway, I just wanted to comment, as these guys have done good work here, this is a great card. I'd score it as 9-9.5 out of 10. If I had one complaint (and it's very small.) It is that support couldn't give me a photo of the card PCB with the cooling removed when I mailed them when I was thinking of watercooling (To see if the full cover block GTX 580 would fit the ZOTAC AMP2) So I was a little worried about buying blocks and finding that they don't fit. Looking at the underside, I GUESS any standard block (reference design) would fit, but I haven't tested. Anyway, if someone has questions about this, leave a reply here.

It's me again, I'm hoping the nice people at Zotac can help me with a question. I am looking at watercooling my system, and I just wanted to confirm that the ZOTAC AMP2 GTX 580 3GB is the reference PCB design? Thank in advance!

Hello again liambussell,

The ZOTAC AMP2 GTX 580 3GB is not the reference design. The AMP2 uses a custom Zalman cooler.
