Hi,
Is Zotac going to release new BIOS for all GTX 460 series (especially to reference versions) with overclocked clocks like EVGA, Palit or Gainward? It would be sweet :)

Thanks in advance for answer
Rafal

Yeah i've heard it mentioned in various reviews that the card is getting BIOS update to fix its comparatively high temperatures, so will it be coming!?!

I will be waiting and watching this topic. I just installed my ZT-40402-10P. I certainly like this Nvidia card a lot better than my old ATI HD 5770. The software/drivers are so much better than ATI!.

There are no plans to release the Overclock BIOS for the Standard GTX460. If you want to overclock your card you can download the available tools to do so.

Not looking for an "overclock bios". The card in general runs hotter than others with the same chipset regardless if you overclock or not.

Heat Issues

I understand what you guys mean now. I'll forward this to the appropriate people and see what I they say. I think they might have misunderstood what was being requested. I'll post back when I hear something.

I agree I run 2 Zotac GTX 460s in SLI and they seem to run hotter than normal at times, also one card runs hotter than the other card, 60s card 1 and 40s c card 2 in SLI mode. I understand that one card runs hotter in SLI mode because its used more, but isn't that a little too much?

A minute later, after installing the driver 260.63 beta on the Zotac GTX460 1GB 256-bit , the system freezes with artifacts on the screen. Retrieved on 2 identical video cards - same result. 258.96 driver work fine. Please check the BIOS of this board is compatible with drivers 260.xx. Already many users have encountered the same problem, and feedback from other manufacturers (Palit, Gainward) recently released an update for the BIOS, which 260.xx drivers work well. Thus, it is not a hardware problem as soon as she decides to update the BIOS... And not driver problem. I understand that the problem only occurs on all GTX460 video cards with 4 video outputs (for example, 2 DVI, HDMI, PisplayPort or DVI, VGA, HDMI, PisplayPort). Please do not ignore it.

My GTX 460 which isn't running in SLI mode runs pretty hot.

Johnny this thread is more about the fact that these cards run hot enough to fry an egg.

Hello! I need a new BIOS. I have a GTX 460 - [ZT-40402-10P]. In GPU-Z i see - 70.04.1B.00.00. Graphics card overclock fine show 900 \ 1800 \ 4600. But it's cool, because the cooler is blocked and only 70%. Maybe there's a new bios. Please send it to me at prokofievsergey@yahoo.com or give a link to it. Thank you! Help me or give advice.

I'm not quite sure I understand why you need a new bios, are you saying you're unable to perform at rated clock speeds?

He needs a new bios to unlock the fan speed to 100% like EVGA did with all of their GTX 460 and the new Bios update that they released.

For those who think you have heat problems. I found that certain programs like Skype and remote desktop cause the video card to run at 100% power, or 1.00+ volts even though it should be idle, blame windows systems for video pulls, its requesting the card to run at maximum power with certain programs.

Your gtx 460 stock 675 cards should be at 51 mhz (yes 51) and .875 volts when idle, that's how I get my sub 34 idle temps.

Please check which programs are running that are keeping your cards not in idle.

Here's my afterburner pic for proof that it should idle at, btw I have a stock ZOTAC ZT-40402-10P, and my gpu2 is a 405 mhz (an 8600gt) and my case has so so ventilation.
The pic is around the time i closed Skype. gpu-z also causes maximum power pull.

13 October 2010?

Great response time. Just like the response to my previous 2 emails. I was considering to buy 2x ZOTAC GTX 460 to replace my current Gainward GTX 460 (run to hot in SLI and crap support), but it seems Zotac isn't that much better. Or at least their response rate is non-existent.

I guess I will go back to EVGA this time...

Yep, my next card will definitely NOT be a ZOTAC!.

Heck, Zotac doesn't even care if something negative is posted on the forum about them. Says enough...
